Vanessa thoroughly enjoys working in her chosen field of obstetrics and gynaecology. She is enthusiastic about caring for women before, during and after their pregnancies as well managing gynaecological problems throughout a woman’s life including fertility.
Vanessa is a graduate of Monash University and trained in obstetrics and gynaecology at the Mercy Hospital for Women. She spent time during her training at rural hospitals in Wangaratta and Geelong and gained international experience at Cork University Maternity Hospital in Ireland.
Vanessa’s obstetric practice includes the management of low and high-risk pregnancies, including multiple pregnancies. She is also a fertility specialist with Monash IVF and completed a Masters of Reproductive Medicine in 2013. She also provides pre-pregnancy counselling services, and gynaecological services including laparoscopy and colposcopy.
Having grown up in country Victoria on a farm, Vanessa loves the practical, ‘hands on’ aspect of obstetrics and gynaecology, and enjoys being able to care for women at an important time of their lives. With three children of her own, Vanessa recognises the importance of information and choice and respect as women make their own journeys into motherhood. She is happy for the birthing process to be as natural as each mother desires, and is well-prepared, should unexpected complications arise. Safety is paramount, and the hospitals where Vanessa practises all have excellent facilities and offer the highest standard of antenatal and perinatal care.
Outside work Vanessa enjoys cycling and playing netball and golf. Her three kids keep her pretty busy as well.
