Dr Yvonne Baker
Yvonne is an obstetrician and gynaecologist who is dedicated to providing her patients with safe, compassionate and individualised care. She strives to ensure that her guidance encompasses evidence based practice and your personal preferences as you navigate the pregnancy together.
Yvonne provides care for all pregnancies, from uncomplicated to those with pre-existing maternal conditions, previous pregnancy complications or higher risks. She also provides a range of gynaecology services including management of abnormal periods, PCOS, ovarian cysts, early pregnancy complications and contraception.
After graduating from Monash University in 2010, Yvonne gained valuable experience in surgical and neonatal roles before commencing specialty training in 2015. Her training was completed predominantly at the Mercy Hospital for Women, in conjunction with rotations across Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Ballarat Base Hospital, The Northern Hospital and Mater Mother’s Hospital (Brisbane). In her final year of training, she worked as a fellow with the Mercy Perinatal team, gaining valuable experience in ultrasound as well as management of complex and high risk pregnancies.
Yvonne holds a public appointment at the Mercy Hospital for Women, where she is also a training supervisor for junior obstetrics and gynaecology trainees. In addition, she is also involved in delivering teaching to the medical students rotating through from the University of Melbourne.
Outside of work, Yvonne is pretty busy keeping up with her own little tribe of three active children. She loves sneaking off to a yoga class when she can, baking a sweet treat or getting outside into the garden.
